Cleansing the Inner Vessel
Our lesson this past Sunday was on the talk "Cleansing the Inner Vessel" by President Boyd K. Packer given in the October 2010 General Conference. If you want to read the talk it can be found on page 74 of the November 2010 Ensign or you can click here
Here are some quotes from the lesson:
"The gift of mortal life and the capacity to kindle other lives is a supernal blessing. Through the righteous exercise of this power, as in nothing else, we may come close to our Father in Heaven and experience a fulness of joy. This power is not an incidental part of the plan of happiness. It is the key -- the very key."
"The adversary is jealous toward all who have power to beget life. Satan cannot beget life; he is impotent. He seeks to degrade the righteous use of life-giving powers by tempting you into immoral relationships."

2011 Birthday Party
We had a great Relief Society birthday party and wanted to thank all of you who worked so hard to make it happen and all of you who attended.

We had a wonderful dinner of Mexican Chicken Casserole, salad and rolls and then a lovely dessert of centerpiece cakes that our very own sisters made!

Ward Cookbook

As a Relief Society Presidency, we're trying to gauge interest in a Ward Cookbook. We'd love to put one together, but we need your help. Would you be willing to submit your favorite tried and true recipes in several categories to compile in an inexpensive cookbook? Ward Cookbooks are the best kind. They're made up of the very best of everyone's personal collection! Please comment here if it's something you'd like to do, or would like to have in your kitchen!!

Book Club Suggestions
The book club is looking for suggestions for books to read this up coming year. If you have a book that you would like to read or that you think would be great for our book club then please leave a comment below listing the title and author. We can not guarantee that all of the books listed will be chosen to read but the book club would love your suggestions. Things to consider when suggesting a book: availability-- are there copies of the book available for for those in our book club to read, content -- you do not have to suggest religious or church books (all genres are welcome) but we do ask that you suggest books with content that is appropriate for a church book club. Thank you for your suggestions and we look forward to seeing at the book club every 4th Thursday of the month.
